Gorgeous 4 bedroom 2 full bath home with attached garage that has been re-plastered, painted and upgraded. An amazing opportunity for a new family, or a potential salon or day spa! The property is situated in Sterling’s “Downtown District” and is ready for a residential, or commercial owner.

We’ve removed the ‘old stuffy victorian’ feel on the inside without dismantling the beautiful original details that give the home character. The house has central air, along with ceiling fans in every bedroom.

3 bedrooms are located upstairs, along with large completely new bathroom. All rooms have been freshly painted.

The master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet that at one time was used as a small kitchen. Gas, water, and electric hookups lead to the closet which make it easy to install a washer/dryer for convenience, or wash station should you use the house as salon or spa.

The second bedroom upstairs gets drenched with sunlight throughout the day and is just slightly smaller than the master, with a medium sized closet. We used this room first as a guest bedroom, and then later as our nursery. All the trim in this room has been encapsulated with a EPA approved lead encapsulation paint to make it safe for little ones.

The third bedroom upstairs is also full of sun throughout the day, has plenty of electrical hookups, and leads to the large bathroom through a small door on the left side of the room.  We believe this room at one time served as the maids quarters, as it has a secret back staircase that leads down to the living room. It’s a large room, just slightly smaller than the master, with a small closet. This room easily has the space to host two queen sized beds, along with dressers and a chair or two.

The beautiful upstairs bath has been newly remodeled with all-new plumbing, and features; gorgeous Morrocan style encaustic tile, beautiful vintage style new Kohler sink and toilet, designer light fixtures including a new “vintage” mother of pearl push-button light switch and brass cover, a rehabbed original clawfoot tub, floating shelf, new baseboards, and all fresh paint.

Downstairs you'll find a jaw-dropping entryway that has been professionally painted, a formal parlor, featuring a gorgeous marble fireplace, three very large windows (windows open and close)  and working pocket doors. The pocket doors open to a large living room with a gorgeous bay window perfect for a big overstuffed chair for lounging. The light fixture has been updated with a modern pillbox shade, and the walls have been replastered and repainted with a fresh coat of paint.

On the north side of the living room you’ll see three doors side by side; the door to the left opens to the staircase that leads up to the former maids quarters, the door on the far right leads around towards the stairway to the main entrance, and the middle door leads to a medium sized bedroom that is nice and dark and cozy with a deep closet that sits under the stairs- perfect for an oversized chair and reading nook. This room has not been re-plastered and needs some spackling here and there and new paint. We used it as our den/TV room as it stayed super toasty in the winter months.

Beyond the set of pocket doors to the living room you’ll walk through another single door that opens to the dining room. The dining room has been painted “sea glass green” and has been updated with a newer gold ‘retro’ pillbox pendant light. The light hangs low, and is set to perfect height to hang over a dining room table. The room is quite sizable and has many doors. The south facing doors open to a mud room where the washer and dryer are located, as well as an entrance to the back yard. The door to the right opens to a full bath that has recently been updated with a new vanity, hardware, and paint. The room doesn’t get as much sun as other rooms in the house, but the gorgeous bay window lets quite a bit of afternoon/early evening sun into the room, as well as the beautiful sounds of the Sterling Municipal Band on cool evenings during the summer months. On the north side of the room you’ll find a deep closet (that can be reclaimed by the kitchen should you want to add square footage) that houses coats and other items quite nicely. Just down from the closet you’ll see the doorway to the entrance of the kitchen.

The kitchen is essentially a large rectangle, not a galley, and has newer updates including a subway tile backsplash, gorgeous refinished wood floors, and a gas stove. As aforementioned, the closet from the dining room takes up the space around the cupboard area in the back of the kitchen, and can easily be reclaimed should you decide to remodel.

Regarding the outside of the home: There is an attached 1 car garage that easily fit our CSUV, lawnmower, additional refrigerator, bikes, and scooter. The garage door operator is less than 2 years old. The front porch has been completely restored, secured, and painted and is just waiting for a sweet little porch swing to spend long summer nights rocking back and forth. The siding is painted white, and the trim was at one time green. It has more recently been painted various shades of pink, but can easily be updated to give the home a completely different look.

The front yard has had the rosebushes and sidewalk removed, and is just waiting for a cute little picket fence surround. The backyard spans the width of the house and wraps around half of the side yard, and is apx. 6’ in depth. The back is fenced in and is great for pets!

We were lucky to live among absolutely wonderful neighbors, and were within walking distance to the Grandon Civic Center, Sterling Theater, Twin City Farmers Market and AirPlay Coffee shop. Every Wednesday evening during the summer you'll hear the sweet sounds of the municipal band playing by simply opening the windows. Also in the summer you’ll be able to attend movies in the park every other Tuesday.
