After earning my BFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art & Design in 2006, I found myself driving across the country to Denver, CO where I would work as an in-house phtographer and assist my husband in opening Ollie's Barber Shop. We lived in the world of artisan-everything and sunshine until recently when we felt our Illinois roots tugging us back to be closer to family.
While in Denver, I worked as Head of Photography, and Lead Photographer for the online educational site Bluprint.com (formerly Craftsy) where I wore many hats and managed a team of photographers to quickly and precisely capture captivating, on-brand imagery for all departments. Among the many opportunities I had while working there, I was able to help create photography standards and practices for all aspects and reaches of photography with the results being better synergy between the creative teams, and course + business development teams.
As a freelance photographer, editor, and stylist, I've found myself wearing many different hats. Lately, I've been writing and photographing "How To" tutorials for my longtime client, Apartment Therapy, as well as shooting tours of some of the most interesting homes I've ever had the pleasure of being in. This relationship with Apartment Therapy has allowed me to work on many large scale projects, including a large bathroom remodel, a parlor makeover, and our latest project; a kitchen remodel. All of which have given me a fantastic platform to work with companies such as Crate & Barrel, Wayfair, Home Depot, and Clè Tile to name a few.
I find inspiration everywhere and am especially drawn to creative people, arts education, good design, delicious foods, and an abundance of color.
